Child Play Music School empowers children ages 5–12 to discover their musical voice through joyful, well-rounded lessons that blend classical foundations with modern creativity, because learning music should always be fun.

Parents are encouraged to attend lessons and support practice at home with helpful emails, handouts, and videos.

Your child’s songs are recorded onto albums and performances are filmed, which make great souvenirs, and gifts.

Recitals are Voluntary

All students are encouraged to participate, but we never force them. Music should be fun, never stressful.

A Little History

Child Play Music School offers a comprehensive and engaging music education designed especially for children. Founded in 2004 by Joel Pipkin, the program was created to fill a gap in music instruction for young learners—combining structure with creativity and fun. While other programs focus narrowly on classical repertoire, Child Play embraces a broader, more dynamic approach.

We honor the value of classical technique and music theory, but we believe the joy of making music should come first. That’s why our curriculum spans multiple genres, allowing students to explore and grow as their interests evolve. At Child Play Music School, we don’t teach musical snobbery—we teach musical ability.
