Looking for a fun, enriching, and creative way to keep your child engaged this summer? Child Play Music School’s summer camps are the perfect blend of music, movement, learning, and laughter—designed especially for kids ages 5–12.
“No experience needed—just a love for music and a willingness to try something new!”
Each summer, Child Play Music offers a variety of summer camp options created especially for our students. Regular weekly lessons will continue throughout the summer, but you also have the option to sign up for one or more weeks of camp.
All skill levels are welcome; beginners through budding performers!
Boot Camp is the same as our regular lessons but is concentrated into a five-day workweek of intense fun. Each week of boot camp will have an ambitious goal for the student to meet on their primary instrument. Students can enroll in as many weeks of Boot camp as they have time for.
Bass Camp is designed for guitar students interested in learning bass. Every guitarist benefits from bass skills: bassists are always in demand, and hiring one can be costly. Learning to play bass yourself adds versatility, makes collaboration easier, and gives you a deeper understanding of music.
Guitar Rhythm Camp is designed for non-guitarists who want to build a solid foundation in rhythm guitar. Students will learn open-position chords, basic strumming patterns, and how to accompany themselves or others—skills that enhance creativity across any instrument or musical setting.
Percussion Camp is open to all students and covers instruments like congas, cajón, claves, palmas, and shakers. Learning rhythmic patterns helps guitarists and pianists lock in with percussionists. Plus, knowing a few percussion grooves can turn any solo performance into a fun jam session with friends.
Melodica Camp is open to all students and introduces the melodica—a fun, affordable instrument that blends piano and harmonica. Playing with breath helps students phrase musically and builds melodic awareness, especially for guitarists and pianists, who benefit from learning to “breathe” through their playing.
Theory Camp is open to all students and explores how music works beyond just notes and symbols. Students learn to recognize patterns, label the shapes they play, and understand musical structure. With this deeper insight, musicians become more fluent and confident—and better able to communicate their ideas with other players.
This end-of-summer group camp is open to all students and focuses on jamming in a fun, collaborative setting. We’ll practice switching between soloing, comping, and rhythm playing. Participation in Boot Camp or Theory Camp is encouraged, as both cover skills that help students feel more confident when playing music with others.
This camp is for students who have attended Bass, Guitar Rhythm, Percussion, or Melodica Camps, as well as those who play at least one secondary instrument. Together, we’ll form a band, arranging tunes featuring guitars, bass, percussion, vocals, piano, and melodica, with students rotating instruments on different songs.
Our camps are intentionally small to keep things personal, playful, and engaging—so space is limited.
We believe every child deserves the chance to fall in love with music. Come experience the joy, connection, and growth for yourself.
